Basic Expenses


  • Air Ticket     = RM199 (Return way Malaysia Airline)- bought 2 months before trip                                        - 2 way included 30kg luggage per pax
  • Hotel            = RM360 (4 nights stay *** hotels) 
  • KLIA transit  = RM53   (both way, one way RM26.50- per pax)
  • Car Park fee = RM20   (one day RM4 in TBS @ Bandar Tasik Selatan)
This is a pure budget trip where the whole trip most of the expenses is fall on the transportation part. As usual, foreigner transport fee is much more expensive than the local people.

Whats the best to visit?

1) Lake Toba/ Samosir Island

  • Lake Toba (Danau Toba) - a large natural lake occupying the caldera of a supervolcano. It is about 100 kilometer long , 30 kilometers wide, up to 505 meter (1666ft) deep. Located in the middle of northern part of Sumatera, with surface elevation of about 900 meter (2953ft). The largest volcanic lake in the world.
  • How to go? 
  • From Medan To Permatang Siantar- 1) take taxi to Amplas Terminal, get the bus ticket to permatang siantar (Sentosa Transport/ Indah Transport, 31000 Rp per pax) . 2) In permatang siantar, take van(taxi) to lake toba, 25000 RP per pax (1 hour) or by bus (1.5 hour)



We took the bus with toilet provided in the bus. Whats so special is that the bus seats having 5 seats per row .Its kind of narrow seats. The journey from medan to permatang siantar it tooks around 3 hours.
The beauty of the lake toba. A must visit place in Medan. A tough & long journey to reach this pretty scenery place. Cruise tour the lake toba - Tuk Tuk Island - 15000 RP per ride per pax.









2) Tjong A Fie Mansion

  • Tjong A Fie Mansion is a mini museum 耀 故居; , a 2 storey mansion in Medan, North Sumatera built by Tjong A Fie (1860- 1921). The building is constructed in Chinese-European-Art Deco style, and was completed in 1900, and said to have been modeled on the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion. 
  • The admission fee = 35000 RP

3) Maimun Palace

  • Maimun Palace / Maimoon Palace -Istana of Sultanate of Deli , a well known landmark in Medan. Built by Sultan Makmun Al Rasyid Perkasa Alamsyah (1887-1891) with 2772 m2 & 30 rooms.The interior design of the palace is the mixed elements of Malay cultural heritage, Islam, Spanish, Indian & Italian style.

  • Admission fee- 5000 Rp per pax
  • Photography session- 10000 Rp per pax (10minutes) with renting the traditional costume & taking photos.
  • How to go? -  By becak , its very easy to get a becak in medan

4) Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni


  • Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni, a catholic temple, in IndoMogul style opened in 2005. It devoted to Our Lady of Good Health & known as Our Lady of Vailankanni

    5) Asam Kumbang Crocodile Farm


  • How to go? -take becak from Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni to the farm.
  • Address: Jl Bunga Raya 2 No. 59, Medan 02133 , Indonesia
  • Admission fee: 6000 Rp per pax
  • Parking fee: 3000 Rp (visitors paid)


6) Centre Point

  • Centre Point- A shopping mall located in town & its just opposite the City Railway Station . From airport , take the railway link, comes out from medan station , walk to opposite .

  • How to go? - take taxi / becak


    7) Vihana Setia Budi

  • Vihana Setia budi -Buddhist temple (Kuan Te Kong)
